Project Tiger

Project Tiger - TragedyProject.com Tragedy Project

Last days, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri, joined the Platinum Jubilee celebration of Corbett Park, claiming to take any serious concerns about the safety of the tigers or take serious action to protect them, but the truth is that the tiger crisis is increasing. Project Tiger was started in Corbett Park after the Wild Life Protection Act was created in 1972.

The plan is making such a difference that at present, the number of tigers has increased to more than 150 in Corbett Park, while the number of tigers in the park is combined to 260. Where the density of tigers in the country is 12-13 tigers per 100 km, in Uttarakhand it is 20 tigers per 100 km. But with the increasing number of tigers, problems related to conservation have also started to grow.

The Tiger project, which is being used for the protection of tigers in Rajaji National Park, is not beneficial for all the tigers in the region due to its boundaries. Tigers living in the National Park can also be protected from predators and there is less chance of human-wildlife conflict, but more than 100 tigers live in the Kavan area outside the Corbett range. From their security to the environment, a serious threat has arisen.

Wildlife smugglers have also increased in this area. Due to the deployment of security personnel in the inner area of the park, wildlife smugglers do not easily target tigers, but outside areas do not have security forces. That's why the state's wildlife lovers are now demanding the expansion of project Tiger, but the condition is that this extension is practical and popular.

Anil Baluni, vice president of Uttarakhand Forest and Environmental Advisory Council, says that the central government should decide that they have to save tigers or run a project tiger.

There is an incident of about 260 tigers being known in Uttarakhand, half of which can cover the cover of this project. Areas related to Corbett Keds are tributaries in central and lower eastern forest division, Haldwani forest division, Western Ramnagar forest division, Kotdwar and Lansdowne forest divisions, and their number is increasing there. The Environment Advisory Council said that to make this project more viable, the Government along with the National Tiger Authority's Member Secretary Dr. Rajesh Gopal also wrote a letter.
On October 16, the police had arrested six members of Panipat Ketotram Bavaria gang in connection with the hunting of a tigress in Tanakpur. Rajendra Agrawal, Uttarakhand Chief of Wildlife Protection Society, says that when the project is worth Rs 2,000 crore The central government is spending the money, then what is the problem in making it a bit more practical?
Tigers are neither on the border of Corbett Park nor will they go to Project Tiger, where they will get food. That is why the tiger will have to be saved there, where it is. Kunwar Vijendra Singh, honorary wildlife guardian of Corbett Park, has said that under the project Tiger, a tiger corridor should be created with a few areas of the Lansdowne Forest Division and Rajaji National Park for the last 40 years.

The rapidly increasing number of tigers in the state, due to which there is a possibility of a tiger and a man's confrontation in the coming time, will be intensified. They say that due to the ever increasing numbers, they are moving towards the outskirts of the park, but the government has no attention to it.

The seriousness of the Uttarakhand government regarding the protection of wildlife and tigers is evident from the fact that 700 day wage workers engaged in the protection of wildlife under Operation Lord were not paid for eight months. This salary was given to them to avoid the danger of commotion, two days before the Chief Minister's Ramnagar tour, while the central government had already released the salary in the month of August.

C.K., Deputy Director, Corbett Tiger Reserve. Dayal says that one big problem is that of more than 400 families living in the park. The constructions being done by them are creating problems for wildlife. The worst tiger and human conflict incidents have also happened in the beautiful areas of the park. The government is talking about the displacement of these families, but it has not been possible so far.

After the launch of Project Tiger, the entire world has attracted the attention of the Kea Lani Corbett, which has benefited the hotel owners here, but the trouble for the local community has increased. Here people and cattle are becoming tributaries of both tigers. The situation is that from April 2009 to April 2011, tigers carried more than 25 attacks on humans and during this 11 tigers were killed. Tiger experts around the world have churned out on the excitement of Corbett's Platinum Jubilee, but no positive initiative has been reached on the question of tigers.
